The Neenah Chess Team traveled to Waupaca on Saturday to open the
2011-2012 season. Neenah's varsity Red team, vying for a third
consecutive conference title, has seized the top spot in the rankings
with a nearly flawless first day. The Red team won all four of its
matches, sweeping three opponents while winning 19 out of 20 individual
games. The varsity white team won 2 matches and is currently in fourth
place.
The Junior Varsity team, which is made up of students from Neenah
High School, Shattuck Middle School, and Horace Mann Middle School
finished the day in fourth place.
